You Are It (2023) explores identity as something layered rather than singular. Carved into clay board and finished with real bronze pigments, the work is built from repeated marks, textures and shifting patterns that come together to form a fragmented face. Multiple eyes emerge across the composition, suggesting different perspectives, states of awareness, and the idea of being both observer and observed. The title points toward a deeper reflection: the thing we spend so much time searching for outside ourselves may already be within us. Through texture, repetition, and form, the work invites viewers to consider the many versions of self that exist beneath the surface, and the possibility that beneath them all there is something shared, something already present: you are it.
