Born in El Salvador and raised in Australia after fleeing the Salvadoran Civil War, Diego Villalta's work explores the rhythms of memory, migration, identity and cultural continuity. Drawing from a life immersed in music, ritual and visual storytelling, his paintings become vessels for histories that refuse to be forgotten.
A celebrated musician, composer and visual artist, Diego has performed internationally and exhibited throughout Australia, building a practice that moves seamlessly between sound, movement and image. In "Coded in Clay and Sky 2.0", these worlds converge in a powerful exploration of heritage, resilience and belonging.
